Florence Coussau is a partner in the Employment Law department at Alerion. She advises French and international groups, whether listed or unlisted, as well as SMEs and start-ups, both in advisory and litigation matters. Her expertise covers all issues related to employment law and social security, with a strong focus on cases involving cross-border and international considerations.
Florence is regularly involved in restructuring operations, mergers and acquisitions, and business transfers, collective redundancies and international mobility. She also supports her clients in addressing individual and collective employment relations, as well as in ensuring legal compliance and managing legal risks in employment law and social security law.
Florence also assists senior executives in optimizing their compensation package, and in the context of negotiations concerning the termination of their roles.
At Alerion, she collaborates with several departments, including the M&A, Tax, and Litigation teams, to ensure that labor and employment considerations are fully integrated into the firm’s strategic operations.
A member of the Paris Bar since 2004, Florence began her career at the firm Flichy Grangé Avocats, before joining the international firm Jones Day where she worked for fourteen years, notably as Counsel. She then worked as a partner at the firm Kalliopé from 2021.
Florence holds degrees from King’s College London and the University Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne (LLB in English law and Master’s in Private Law, 2001). She also holds a DEA in Business Law and a DES in Economic Law from Catholic University of Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium) and the University Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne (2002).
Her experience covers a variety of sectors such as industry, energy, private education, new technologies, and biotechnology.
