Gérald Lagier is active in a broad range of real estate and construction law matters, both in the public and private sectors.
He advises clients early on from the initial structuring of a real estate transaction (sale or acquisition, urban planning, real estate structuring, expropriation), through the construction phase (private or public construction work contracts, subcontracting, preventive proceedings, neighbor disputes, contract terminations, litigation during the construction phase) and once the building is completed, with regard to contractor’s liability (guarantee of completion, ten-year guarantee, common law guarantees).
He is recognized for his expertise in resolving financial claims disputes (public contract claims, claims regarding additional construction work, construction site delays, penalties, compensation for not meeting deadlines, general accounting procedures and settling accounts between parties).
He also has significant experience in commercial leases, particularly in litigation matters.
Gérald has two post graduate degrees, a DEA in general private law and a DESS in real estate and construction law, both from the University of Paris II-ASSAS. He is admitted to the Paris Bar since 1998.
Gérald contributed to the founding of Alerion in 2003 and became a partner in 2007.
As a member of the French Association of Real Estate Lawyers (Association des juristes de droit immobilier (AJEDIM)) and of the French Association of Construction Law (Association française du droit de la construction (AFDC)), he regularly provides training sessions in construction law.
